For a long time, I poured a lot of my heart into Amazing Orthodox Churches. I was proud of it. I loved sharing beautiful icons, domes, and places of worship from all over the Orthodox world. Twice a day, seven days a week—I posted, scheduled, researched, curated, and edited everything myself. And for a while, that pace felt sustainable.
But over time, the weight of that consistency started catching up to me.
What began as a labor of love slowly turned into a grind. I would burn out, take a short break, come back strong, then burn out again. The breaks started getting longer. The passion was still there, but the flame flickered. I realized I was trying to maintain something that no longer fit the season I was in.
That’s when something new began to rise.
Bit by bit, I found myself speaking more into a microphone than typing out captions. Writing more personal reflections and spending less time curating images. I was still talking about the faith, but from a different vantage point—from the cab of a Freightliner instead of behind a screen.
And that’s when it clicked: this is the work I’m being called to now.
This blog—orthodoxtrucker.com—is where I’ll be focusing my energy moving forward. This is where I’ll share what God is teaching me on the road: during early-morning pre-trips, in silent stretches of desert highway, at truck stops, and in stolen moments of prayer beside an oil lamp in the sleeper cab.
More than that, we’ve launched the Orthodox Trucker Podcast—a reflection-based ministry from the road. The podcast isn’t polished or produced in a studio, but it’s honest. I speak about faith and fasting, humility and heartache, light and darkness—sometimes while the rain hits the windshield, sometimes after a long haul, sometimes between shifts on the interstate.
This ministry isn’t fancy—but it’s real. And more importantly, it’s where I believe God has placed me.
Let me be clear: I’m not done being Orthodox. I’m just done trying to catalog every church in the world. I’m not an archivist. I’m a witness. A traveler. A trucker. And a man trying to live his faith on the road.
So what can you expect going forward?
Podcast episodes, every Tuesday and Friday, with spiritual reflections drawn from life on the road.
The same podcast episodes available on YouTube, for those who prefer to listen there.
Blog posts, grounded and personal—about faith, trucking, family, repentance, and what it means to follow Christ in the ordinary.
Whether I’m talking about the parable of the ten virgins or what it’s like to get run off the road by a distracted driver, it’s all part of the same mission: to bring light into places people don’t usually expect it. That includes loading docks, rest areas, weigh stations, and the long, lonely highways of America.
So if you’ve been with me since the Amazing Orthodox Churches days, thank you. That project meant a lot to me. But the road ahead looks different now—and I’m leaning into it fully.
This is the path I’m walking now. Or rather, the road I’m driving.
Thanks for riding along.
